By accessing or using Okaasan ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Okaasan is an AI-powered tool that analyzes photos of Japanese food labels to provide translations, ingredient information, allergen alerts, nutrition facts, and related data. The Service is available via our web application.
3. Free and Pro Plans
The free plan allows up to 3 scans per month without requiring a credit card. The Pro plan offers unlimited scans and additional features for a monthly subscription fee or a one-time traveler pass. Prices are displayed on the Pricing page.
4. Payments and Cancellation
Payments are processed by Stripe. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The traveler pass is a one-time payment with no renewal.
5. Accuracy Disclaimer
Okaasan uses AI to analyze food labels. While we strive for accuracy, results may be incomplete or incorrect, especially for damaged, partially visible, or unusual packaging. The Nutri-Score is an AI estimate based on European methodology and is not an official certified value.
Always verify critical information such as allergens and ingredients directly on the product before consumption. Okaasan is not responsible for any health issues arising from reliance on the Service.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the API.
- Share your account credentials with others.
- Upload content that is illegal, offensive, or violates third-party rights.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, and code of the Okaasan Service are the exclusive property of Okaasan. The AI-generated analysis results provided to you may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Okaasan shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
9. Independence
Okaasan is an independent service. We are not affiliated with any Japanese retailer, food manufacturer, or distribution network. We do not promote or endorse any specific products.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
